Greetings,

The Sun. How we've missed you! It spins round & round much like a record, right round baby. We welcome the sunshine as a source of bright light & blazing heat bringing life to this immense blue Earth. One can say Music has the same effect on us as its rhythm renews our spirit and makes us feel alive.

Sunshine Jones (formerly of Dubtribe Sound System) comes out with a brand new solo project pre-released only in digital fornat. Together with other releases this month by Collective Sound Members, Dennis Ferrer, ananda project, & From P-60, will bring your soul out to dance. Read On & Say Word!

King Street Sounds is proud to welcome Sunshine Jones, formerly of Dubtribe Sound System, San Francisco's pioneering live sound system, to the label's esteemed roster of house music talents. Dubtribe Sound System recently disbanded, completing an North American 'farewell' tour. For the past 15 years, Dubtribe established themselves as one of the American dance music scene's most endearing and inspirational live acts, running their own imperial DUB Recordings label (now defunct), this husband-and-wife 'tour de force' has yielded fruit in the production of five full-length albums, a dj mix album, countless remixes, and a string of singles, including some of the deep house community's most loved anthems of the past several years such as "El Regalo de Amor' for Guidance Recordings, Top 5 UK dance chart hit "Equitoreal", and the international smash "Do It Now".

Inspired by the likes of Chicago house music legends Frankie Knuckles, Marshall Jefferson, Robert Owens, Mr. Fingers, and Ron Hardy, Seven Tracks in Seven Days shows a rarely seen 'electronic' side of Sunshine Jones, one hidden by years of Dubtribe's lusher, more organic productions.

Two signature super-singles from Ananda Project's forthcoming full-length CD, Fire Flower , come to the forefront of today's dance floor. The upbeat lounge- jazzy, Afro-Cuban interpretation of "Fireworks" is brought to you by the legendary production team Josh Milan & Kevin Hedge, aka Blaze. Terrence Downs' incredibly & dynamically beautiful male vocals weave seamlessly throughout the soft piano riffs and native percussion. This is one remix that will have you groovin' in your lounge chair on a lazy Sunday afternoon. Gearing up for the disco, the flipside beauty of a remix is done by yet another legend; That being Jay-J (of Naked Music, Shifter Music & Moulton Studios). When listening to the smooth original album version, one wouldn't think it would be in need of a remix, but along came Jay-J who found a way to do it pure dancing justice. Sleek, bouncy, smooth and all around superb. Just the way we like it!

KNG 272 - Release Date: 4/25/07

We at King Street have searched far and wide for a remixer who could truly pull off a big room banger of this massive tune. Someone known but someone whom we haven't yet brought on board to do a remix. Someone who can take this almighty churchy anthem and bang it so that both Heaven and Hell feel its mighty rumble. This song has already touched down on every corner of the Earth and just when you think you've been able to survive on the merits of the original, rising out of the ashes like a musical Phoenix come new tough remixes by DJ/Producer Bryan Cox. He's produced over 100 tracks and has played at Ultra Music Festival (Miami), Dance Valley Festival (Amsterdam), Detroit Electronic Music Festival, and Rave Smile (Brazil). Aside from playing here in the good ol' USA, his worldwide gigs have brought him to China, Canada, Colombia, Mexico, Japan, Europe, and the U.K. Bryan's unique sound brings elements of funk and techno to house music. Known as a DJ that make the crowds never want to stop dancing, he brings a refreshing element to the dance scene. His remix of Church Lady is no exception. Speaking of Heaven, The Muthafunkas give us one more god-given gift of pumping rhythm on the special bonus MF Remix. (You'll need to buy that one folks)...

KSS 1247 - Release Date: 4/25/07

This Dutch-based production team comes to King St. with a solid lovely soulful yet energetic EP. The thick rhythms & twangy guitar of "Believe" is followed by the handsome & deeply bass-lined "Cover Story"; a nice flowing light jazzy piano keyed & guitar-riffed instrumental. "Switch" is up next delivering more cool House-lounge effect with some sexy sax thrown in for great measure. Rounding out this debut EP is "Never Let Go"; a moody, almost cinematic, deep lounge & 4x4-rhythmed production that will cross different genres of "club" music. These all strike a nice balance between the club & lounge bringing a nice even flow to the dancefloor.

KSS 1248 - OUT NOW
Our man Zoltan is at it again! This is his 3rd EP signed to Nite Grooves & if the saying holds true, then this time truly is the charm. His deep & minimal comparable Timewriter / Plastic City-esque style shines through, and we get a quadruple dose of it on this smashing EP. "Human Things" is the lead tune consisting of a simple thump track with liquid soundscapes flowing throughout. "I'm Not The Same" is up next and its simple chords and reverbed haunting vocal strokes the heart-felt synth jabs. "On The Road For You" weaves easy chords through a deep deep pump and is absolutely perfect for an early dawn set. Closing out the EP's namesake, the final tune, "Sinking With The Fall", has a faint female vocal that, together with its warpy washes gently caresses the head-nodding rhythm. All in all a gorgeous, veritable future-soul chefs d'oeuvre.
